Hey There

We're the founders, Arya and Saanvi, and the co-founders, Lily and Bhavini. We are dedicated to raising funds for Parkinson's disease. Our passion for helping those affected by this disease has driven us to create a platform that brings together individuals and communities to make a difference. Through our hard work and dedication, we hope to make a significant impact in the lives of those affected by Parkinson's. We are committed to continuing our efforts and positively changing the world.

Arya

Hi, I'm Arya, a high school student passionate about medicine. Science is not just my favorite subject; it's my compass in exploring the complexities of the human body and understanding the world around me. In particular, I am leaning towards dermatology, which I currently have a blog about, and also neuroscience.

Outside of the medical field, I love writing poems and short stories, Oreos, dancing, watching horror movies, and enjoy swimming. I live in the Bay Area with a younger brother and my parents.

My aim with Shine for Parkinson's is to foster a welcoming community for Parkinson's patients and their allies. I know firsthand how difficult it is to see a loved one struggling from a condition that negatively affects them. So I decided to create a non-profit just for that! I am committed to making a meaningful impact and look forward to collaborating with you, Saanvi, Lily, and Bhavini to achieve our goals!

Saanvi

Hi there! I’m Saanvi, a high school student with an interest in biology and medicine. I love exploring the mysteries of nature, the human body and of the world around me. I aspire to be a cardiologist to better understand the complexities of the human heart.

I love music, and I play many instruments and sing. I also play badminton and enjoy watercolor painting. I'm a member of the American Association of University Women, and live in the Bay Area with both of my parents.

My aim for Shine for Parkinson's is to create a safe space for Parkinson's patients to share their experiences with each other and the world. I also aim to raise money towards finding a cure for the disease, and am looking forward to working with you, Arya, Lily, and Bhavini to make a difference in the lives of many people!

Lily

Hi, I’m Lily, a high school student from the Bay Area. From a young age, I’ve been passionate about the medical field, a passion that’s been nurtured by coming from a family of doctors. I've always been fascinated by the doctors’ work and the profound impact they have on people’s lives.

Struggling with runner's knee, patella-femoral syndrome, and chronic ankle conditions has given me firsthand experience with the medical profession. Thanks to the guidance and care of dedicated doctors, I’m on the path to recovery.

Outside of my medical interests, I play the piano, run, and participate in debate camps. I’ve been playing soccer since I was nine and am currently part of a competitive team. I’m deeply grateful for the support of my doctors and mentors, and I aspire to become a pediatrician or a sports medicine doctor. Through Shine for Parkinson’s, I hope to highlight the importance of the medical field and the impact it can have on individuals' lives, with the help of you, Arya, Saanvi, and Bhavini.

Hey there. I’m Bhavini Dixit, a high school student living in the Bay Area. Doctors and working in the medical field have always been inspiring to me because they handle the lives of people. They stand tall in the harsh winds of adversity. I have family and friends who walk along side me today only because of how far modern medical technology has come. As an attempt to fuel this and push forward, I have helped start this organization.

Outside of my passion for the medical field I am a dancer and have been competing since I was 7. I love reading and all things academic. I enjoy spending time with my close friends.

I hope to help people around the world by helping fund research into this disease that causes people’s quality of live to significantly deteriorate. I hope that more people can wake up knowing their family is safe from one less threat. It’s your support and the help of all our best doctors and scientists, we can help people around the world. I'm looking forward to working with you, Arya, Saanvi, and Lily!
